STUDENT OBJECTIVES
In this unit you will discover the differences between non-fiction and fiction reading material. You will also be able to distinguish the differences between a biography and an autobiography.
RESOURCES Outside materials needed- Glencoe Literature Book.
WEEK ONE ASSIGNMENTS Assignment 1: Go to the DISCUSSIONS section of the wiki page. Post your response to the following question: Do you read to learn new things or do you read for fun? List at least 10 reasons that you read. After writing your response, reply to at least two other classmates.
Assignment 2: Click on the link below and read about the author, Maya Angelo.
Assignment 4: After reading about the author, list some reasons that you think the author may have written this biography. Type your answers and save as a google document. Use the link provided below to access Google Docs. You must follow the instructions provided within this link in order to create your account for Google Documents.
Assignment 5: Read the story, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" in your literature book. The story is found on page 5. After reading the story, go to the next page titled, Autobiography.
